Gives into strange fears

Hi

Would you say that the use of give into fears is correct and natural here?

1: We shouldn't give into fears now. It's too late!

2: At the last moment, she gave into strange fears and apprehensions and returned without a second thought.

Thanks,

Tom

I would say that both your sentences are fine, except that you can't use "into." The expression is to give in to something.

(It's like "he gave up on the battlefield" -- you can't change it to "he gave upon the battlefield"!)
