Hi teachers. Please help me with this sentence. How would it be most natural?

Jack gives thumbs up to John, who gives thumbs up to Jim.

Jack gives a/his thumbs up to John, who gives a/his thumbs up to Jim.

Jack gives John (a/his) thumbs up and then John gives Jim (a/his) thumbs up.

You give a thumbs-up or the thumbs-up. You can't give your thumbs-up. Normally, it's a thumbs-up. "The" could be justified when you use "thumbs-up" to mean "approval" (Ted wanted to start digging right then, and the boss gave him the thumbs-up.)
