In the above-mentioned paintings, the picture that is given of the staff is taken from the prevailing values and culture of a class of society that helped the artist in its representation. ? Any more formal word?
Thanks in advance

"presented" may be a better choice. I'm wondering if "helped" is actually what you mean.

It reads as if a certain group of people within society assisted the artist in the creation of the pictorial representation of the staff? Is that what you mean?
Saying that the picture is "taken" from certain values/culture is already a stronger statement than saying that those things "helped" the artist, so the latter is redundant, and in fact actually confusing since one consequently tries to interepret it as meaning something else, such as applying to "class of society". This is in my opinion.
