Given

Hi,

Action: Given that we now know MORNING LIGHT'S wartime reporting to have been accurate, his judgement on such apparently trivial matters is worth taking seriously.

What is 'given' mean in this sentence?

Thanks

I venture to suggest a synonym "in consideration of" or "in view of".

Yes; perhaps "in consideration of the fact that" or "in view of the fact that".

"Given that" is very close to "since".
