give up the follow up for

Please tell me if following sentence is grammatically correct - "I didn't give up the follow up for some issues." I am suspecting the use of up 2 times in a sentence and usage of for.

That's the problem. I'm not sure what you're saying. Can you say it in a different way so I understand better?
