Give less amount than due

Hi

I think there are typical expressions for these situations.

When a shopkeeper gives you back more cash than due

When a shopkeeper gives you back less cash than due

Could you please help me with these sentences--I mean, the red parts?

  1. I did not realize that the man had given me me less cash. I put the amount in my back pocket and left the shop.
  2. By mistake, the old shopkeeper gave me more cash than due. I realized it when I got back home.

Thanks,

Tom
