Can we say that " people in Internet are giving away fake infromation" ? Is it incorrect to type that sentence?

It depends on what you mean by 'incorrect'.
eg If a native speaker would never say something, would you call it 'incorrect'?

I mean if an examiner corrects an essay and sees the sentence " give away information " , would he consider it as an error? or he would just ingore it

If I were the examiner, I'd consider it an error.
And I'd consider 'fake information' an error, too.

okay thanks a lot , but why "fake information" is a mistake?
I didn't wanted to write false infromation, I think there is a difference.
I was writing about the disadvantages of Internet and I wrote that people are capable of providing fake information in order to get closer to their targets.

'Fake information' just does not collocate well.
