Ghost

I just watched Ghost again, for the first time since it was released, and it stands up remarkably well.
I'd forgotten almost everything about it, including the adventure/thriller/suspense aspects of the plot - a plot that is only indirectly a love story. Sure, a lot of what Swayze does is out of love for Demi, but quite a bit is revenge against the bad guys.

I was surprised at how little Demi is in it - it really is his story, and Whoopi Goldberg is far more in the spotlight - a nice performance, too. Not too much over the top stuff.
Well worth a second look.

A long time since I've seen it, but I do recall really disliking the horribly on-the-nose "Look - bad guys get dragged down to **** by screaming demons!" ending.

The demons are pretty shadowy and don't actually scream. I wasn't crazy about it either, but I think they did have to make a distinction between the afterlife for the virtuous and the afterlife for the rest of us.

My memory has obviously supplied the screams. And I'm afraid I don't see the need for that highly specific ending: it could have been rather more subtly, I think. Or perha
