Getting rid of "ands"?

Hi, everyone.

"When Shepherd told Jocasta that Oedipus’ mother was dead, Jocasta became happy and rejoiced and told oedipus that...."

I wany to get rid of the second "and" without starting another sentence. Could someone tell me how I do that?
