Getting confused - using the verb 'explain'

Hi,

I'd explain you the complete thing.

I'd explain the complete thing to you.

I'd explain to you the whole thing.

Are all correct ? All seem ok to me, however, I'm unsure of all the grammatical rules which may apply here.

Please clear off my confusion.

The last two are correct, the second being the one that makes the most sense. The reason the first one doesn't work is because you're missing a "to". "I'd explain to you the complete thing" would be correct.

The last one would make more sense if you worded it as "I'd explain the whole thing to you."
