gets/is rejected

Everyone of us gets/is rejected sometimes. We just have to learn to take rejection (lightly/easy) when it comes.

To begin with, are there marginal differences between "gets and is rejected?"

Second, do I have to insert lightly or easy after rejection in the above? Thanks.

Depends on what you mean by 'marginal'. The meanings are the same. ' Get ' is informal and stresses the action a bit-- this is true of the ' get '-passive generally.

  • You do not need lightly (I don't think much of ' ea sil y '), but it adds its meaning to the statement.
