Get Vs. have

"Please get the secretary fax me the information"

"Please have the secretary fax me the information"

Hi. I know there's a slight difference between their meanings but I'd like to ask if it's true that most native speakers prefer to use have over get these days regardless of the circumstances.

Thank you

"Please get the secretary to fax me the information" I can't really speak for 'most' native speakers, but I don't see that we'd have a preference for natural usage of "get ... to" or "have". I don't even think about these kind of things unless asked by someone with English as a Second Language.

  • to" than "have".
