Grammar

get up to, take up with somebody

It is not good to take up with him as he will get up to something which may hurt you.

Is this sentence correct?

Here is my understanding with the phrases :

[take up with somebody = to become friendly with someone, especially with a stranger; get up to something = to do something that other people would disapprove of]
