Get up earlier

Hi. Is it correct to have a sentence with the word "earlier" like "I will try to get up earlier next year" as a New Year's resolution? How about when person A gets up at 6 a.m. and person B gets up at 6:30 a.m. And can we ask this as sort of a question to those who are starting to learn English? The answer should be "person A." Thank you in advance for your help.
