Get the job done

Hi all,
just a couple of simple questions i am a bit confused on.
is 'get the job done' the same as 'do the job'?

what's the meaning of 'make the job' as in
A little extra work in the planning phase will make the job go so much more smoothly.

Hello! I'd say: "do the job" is an order to the person you're talking to; s/he has to do what s/he's being told. "get the job done": again it's an order to that person, but here you're telling her/him to find a means, an arrangement so that the job is done, not necessarily by the person you're talking to.

Hello, Tieukhoi, welcome to the English Forums!
Well, something has to be done. To me, it ranges from something neutral to something unpleasant (from, let's say, tidying a room or washing the dishes, to a Mafia assignment to kill a witness)
A says to B:
1. "do the job, will you?" > A asks/tells B to take care of what has to be done her/himself.
2. "get the job done!" > A

I've been watching ESPN, and "get the job done" seems to be a favorite phrase among sport commentators.

e.g. Agassi got the job done with his 16th ace. (the job being winning the championship)
or:
Though this is not his personal best, he gets the job done. Congratulations.

Also, there are some differences with their results.
Do the job-----you just do it is okay, it doesn't matter that whether it is frustrated or successful,
Get the job done------however you do it ,when it is finished you should make sure that the result is what the asker expected.
