Hi
i got a question about this combination "Get the..."
Sometimes used as "get the door", "get the trunk". Does it mean "Open the door" or "Close the door" ?

Get the door means answer the door

Get the bags - carry the bags

Get the shopping - bring the shopping (from either the car or the shop)

The context is important. "Get the" means to do what is appropriate with the object. If I'm carrying something and say "get the door", it means to open the door. Conversely, if the door is open, and I can't close it myself, "get the door" would mean to close it.
