Get sorted

Hi, I often hear the phrase "get sorted".

Is it correct to use it in the context of "I got everything done what I wanted to be done?"

For example:

I went to the bank and got everything sorted. - Is it correct?

Thanks.

What phrase insted of "get sorted" can I use so the sentence doesn't sound informal?

Is "arrange" ok?

I went to the bank and arranged everything?

...got everything arranged?

I'm not sure.

When you use 'get' you are already in informal mode, but I can't imagine your needing to be formal with this utterance. Another common phrase is 'straighten out/away'. The most 'formal' phrase I can think of offhand is 'complete (the) arrangements'.
