Get scared herself

Hi, Could you please help me with this?

1) Someone wrote "If she moves or gets scared herself, the big gorilla will attack her".

I think the word "herself" is not necessary and incorrect. Do you agree?

2) "The monkey wanted to scare the woman". I would have written "to frighten the woman". But is the original sentence incorrect?

3) A person is preparing a strawberry smoothie (like a shake) and within the instructions she wrote: "Pour some chocolate chips and more vanilla icecream over it". I would have not used OVER but INTO, since he is adding ingredients into a glass full of liquid. Am I right?

Thank you

It may not be necessary, but it is the use of the reflexive for emphasis. Here, the writer is saying that the gorilla is probably frightened and her own fear will trigger the attack.
