Get paid

Hi

If someone says: I gotta get paid it means that he has to pay for something or that someone should/will pay him, or both?

So it means the same as: I've got to get/make some money.

No, not exactly. "I've got to get paid" assumes that the speaker is expecting payment for something specific -- a job he has done or something he has sold. "I've got to get/make some money" is much less specific. The speaker might have no idea how he will get the money.
