Get or go one's own way?

If both are possible, is there a difference between "to go one's own way" and "to get one's own way"?

If so, when should I use each of them?

Would you give me some examples, please?

Those are completely different.

We meet each other on the street, and we have a short conversation. Then each of us goes our own way. We split up. You go to the right, to the bank, and I go to the left, to the supermarket.
