Get on/ in / into ?

Which one is corrrect?

1. Get on the car/bus/taxi/train

2. Get into the car/bus/taxi/train

3. Get in the car/bus/taxi/train

As far as I know to get on is used for all sorts of vehicles. So 1 would be correct. But "get on " isn't used for cars and taxis.

As far as I know to get on is used for all sorts of vehicles. So 1 would be correct.
But "get on " isn't used for cars and taxis. Therefore you get in the car.
