Get hit on

Hi. What does an overweight woman mean by these words “ I don’t get hit on quite as often” in this sentence: “ I don’t get hit on quite as often, some people aren’t as friendly to me, and some people are downright hateful in ways they wouldn’t have been when I was thin.” ?

She doesn’t often get hurt?
Or people don't understand her?

"Hit on" is a VERY common phrase when someone tries to engage you socially in a way that may lead to (depending on their objective) a future date or immediate ***. " That pretty girl is over there. just trying to enjoy her coffee and her book, and guys keep hitting on her.
