Get hired or prizes

I wrote a short essay.

"""""""Only few people are chosen. They get hired or prizes"""""""""

If past particlple comes after "or", I know a verb before or/and can be omitted. ex) They get hired or paid)

What I'd like to know is whether a verb can be omitted if a noun comes after or/and just like the sentence underlined above

They get hired or prizes / / / / /They get hired or get prizes. Which is correct? or Is both correct?

He was a publisher, and thought of printing a guide to letter writing for middle-class ladies.

You said "~~get hired and get prizes." is only the correct form.

Then what about the sentence above?

He was a publisher, and was thought of printing a ~~

Neither is correct. 'Was thought' is the wrong verb form (passive is not called for here), and the second should not have a comma, because you cannot have one comma between subject ('He') and verb ('thought'):
