Get go

Hiya!

As I know, "set off"and "get going" as prhasal verbs, mean to start to go (with car, on foot whatever).
My question is: how does GET GO sound? I just recently said to police officer that (questioned me why I didn't wear my seatbelt) "I JUST GOT GO".
And I feel it was incorrect...

Thank you!

Hi 84HGabor;

"Get go" is an informal noun meaning "the beginning." Being a noun, it is not inflected.

I just knew right from the get go that something was wrong.

You could have said: I just got going. (meaning that you had just started moving.)
