Get burned for

Hello, may I ask what is the meaning of "get burned for" ? could it mean being punished?

Newman's music is completly different from New Porno's stuff, its way more acousticy and a little slower, with a far more personal feeling, and (especially in this forum) I may get burned for saying this but his solo work may be better than the New Pornos stuff altogether.

Thank you in advance.

As MrWordy suggests, the undesirable action would depend on the situation.

The hot stove is something we often need to use. We're aware of the hazzard, and take the risk, hoping to avoid harm, or dodge the bullet.
