Get better at/in communicating

Finally, take heart. We usually get better at communicating as we get older.

Is "at" in the above interchangeable with "in?" If not, can you tell me why? Thanks.

No.

No. I'm afraid that's just the way it is. You must know that the use of prepositions is largely idiomatic and not subject to logic or rules.

No. If someone is good at something, he has the ability to do something well. It's quite idiomatic here.
