Vocabulary

get back ....

So I have this question I don't understand in my exercise book:
He couldn't get back____ his car. He has locked himself out.
A.on B.into C.in D.to
The answer is B but I don't get why I can't choose C or D. Can you explain what's the difference?

Top answer

B is best, but C is also commonly said and is not wrong. D wrongly suggests he can't get back to the location of his car. The first sentence should begin He can' t get bac k C live
