Get + adj.

Hello,

I'm wondering that is it valid and common to use 'get adj.' in place of 'be adj.'?

e.g. 'I get worried', 'I get hung up on this task'

Is there some difference between 'get adj.' and 'be adj.' ?

Thank you in advance

'Get' is the activity beginning the condition; 'be' is the condition. I got worried when I didn't hear from him, and I have been worried ever since then . 'Get' also forms what is called the 'get-passive', which again adds a feeling of action: I got arrested by the police for speeding = I was arrested by the police for speeding
