get across, get ahead

I want to get across these points of mine first to all my colleagues and then to my Boss. But the colleagues seems to be arrogant and they overlooking to my points. So I am approaching directly to my Boss.

She was taken up as a manager in the office. I am sure she will find difficult to get ahead this position as she never have experience of being a manager.

Please correct my sentences.
