Get a shiny new ...

Hi

It's from a book about magic. The author writes about cleansing the kitchen.

He says:

When you burn food, cut yourself, drop pots and pans, or experience a rash of accidents in your kitchen, this could indicate the need for a cleansing. Get a shiny new copper tea kettle. Fill it with water and some herbs.

Does "get a shiny new ..." mean "buy" or just "grab"? And "shiny new" means just "brand new"?
