Get a haircut

My friend want to have her hair cut.this is what she's gonna say to barber.

No need to cut the fringe short.just give it a trim.
take a little off the back and have it thinned.
do a invisible perm on the top of both side.
make it look like a Bob haircut style.

is there something wrong? please correct me and make it more idiomatic.

thank you!

Usually, we refer to a barber as someone who cuts men's hair. A person who cuts a woman's hair is a stylist.

I don't know what she means by "fringe" but "I'm just looking for a little trim" is fine. It means "Don't make it much shorter and don't change the style, but even things up."

I have no idea what an invisible perm is.

"I'd like to have it cut in a bob." -- Note

(British English) fringe=American Equivalent: bangs

your hair is cut so that it hangs down over your forehead

there are three jobs I 'd like ask the styilst to do

1, bangs,I'm just looking for a little trim.

2, cut a little short in back ,and make it thinner with a hair thinner.

3, have a permanent wave on top of both side ,invisible wave is on

I'm sorry, it seems you will need to ask someone who visits the salon more often than I do. I have been blessed with curly hair so I know nothing about perms. Thank you for teaching me the word "fringe."

I don't understand the distinction you are making between saying a bob hairstyle and having your hair cut in a bob.

Maybe I made a mistake here,

1"cut in a bob" to me is "cut it short" Am I wrong here?

2"Bob-Hairstyle" to me is " cut hair so that it hangs to the level of your chin and is the same length all the way round your head "

you mean the two sentence is the same ?

If you tell your stylist to cut it in a bob, you will get a haircut like the one Katie is wearing.

Take the photograph with you, and ask the stylist how she would describe it for next time.

That's very good advice. Having a picture is a good way to describe what you want, and the stylist can help you learn the right words.

Great thinking, JH!

Haha...If you are talking about the same Katie as the one I am thinking of as a TV news anchor, I thought I never see the humorous side of you. That's funny!
