Gerunds or...?

Hi everyone
What are the roles of "having" & "waking" in these sentences?
I know they're reduced adverbials, but the problem is that i can't decide if they are gerunds, or participials?
Having walked into the room, she found them dead.
Walking into the room, she found them dead.
