what is the difference between
1.We decided to buy a new car.
and
2. we decided buying a new car.

'Decide' can be followed by 'on' or 'to'.

'Decide to' is followed by a verb (I decided to buy a Ford).

'Decide on' is followed by a noun or gerund (I decided on buying a Ford)'.
