Grammar

Gerund

What is more preferable:

After receiving our Master's command we launched the boat (when interested in the fact only)

or:

After having received the command, we launched the boat (when interested in the sequence of events)

P.S : I''m interested only in the GERUND, not in grammar tenses.

They both seem to be possible.....

olive bee GERUND These are correct. "After" in the first sentence sounds redundant and odd to me, although it is grammatical. After Having received the command, we launched the boat.
