Tomorrow I've a grammar test. Building gerunds is part of it.

What I asked me: Does a building rule of gerund exist?

Thank you for an answer!

Gerunds are the nomial form, also called noun form, of verbs. (ing-form) Verb: + ing to eat eating When you have a verb that ends with an e, like to exchange, the e is usually omitted: exchanging. I don't know whether there are any other building forms.
