Genre

Hello, i am doing a MRP project for my English class and need to provide with 4 different main genres based on research and 4 "unifying" genres.

For our unifying genres, many are doing diary entries. I was wondering if there was some sort of genre that consisted of persona thoughts. In this case, i wanted to provide the mental thoughts of an animal to provide a base to animal experimentation.
Is there such genre that consists of non-written thoughts?

Thanks again.

Anonymous Is there such genre that consists of non-written thoughts? Non-written? It seems you'll have to go in the direction of music, painting, sculpture, and architecture, but it's uncertain to me that that is what you're driving at.

  • Non-written?

  • Even music is written, though, so maybe that doesn't count.
  • Mental thoughts?

Mental thoughts? I suppose you mean, simply, thoughts.

Hi

There is a sci-fi novel based on laboratory rat experimentation: Doctor Rat, by William Kotzwinkle (1976).

I can't find my copy! - but it still exists on the web

But a novel wouldn't qualify as "non-written", would it?

I'm not sure what the OP wants with respect to this "non-written" stipulation.

I agree, Jim

Maybe a laboratory rat can tell its story through the narrator, even though it cannot write itself?

Dunno - if I find my copy of Doctor Rat, I may shed some light on it
