General question about comma placement
In the following sentence, is it correct to place a comma in between the words 'because' and 'if'?
"I believe in fairies, not because I want to, but because if I stop believing, Tinkerbell will die."
"I believe in fairies, not because I want to, but because if I stop believing, Tinkerbell will die."
