Gelled his hair into ...

Hello,

Is is correct to say: "He gelled his hair into disarray"?

I've got doubts about the verb itself (wouldn't it be better to say "put some gel ...") and about "into".

Thank you

It's correct to say "He gelled his hair into disarray". It's fine to use gel as a verb and into disarray describes into what shape (or lack of shape) he gelled his hair. Rover

It works for me. A more creative use of language than I usually hear, but OK.
