Gay Marriage Essay

. Some facts were really surprising, but, in general, I've realized that I already knew a lot on this subject. In today's world this problem remains a topical issue, which is constantly discussed almost everywhere. The author of the essay seems to be really concerned about the Gay Marriage problem.

First, he provides us with a lot of historical facts. We can see that the modern history of gay marriage dates back to the late 20th century, when domestic partnership of gay couples was legalized in several European countries. Governments of tens of countries have understood same-sex couples, and nowadays they are able to marry and live their lives as happily as heterosexual partners.

Still, many people from many countries still oppose gay marriage. Most of them refer to religion. The author tell us that denying the right to marry is a violation of an elementary human right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and it's absolutely wrong in the context of any modern religion as well.

In the conclusion the author states that the legalization of gay marriage would be a positive change for our society. Homosexual people only want the same rights as their heterosexual counterparts receive.
