Gave him what money I had?

Just before I've seen the following sentence. Could you check whether or not it is right ?

"I gave the beggar what money I had."

I think this sentence is wrong. I think he should write as "I gave the beggar what I had" or "I gave the beggar all money I had". Doesn't the sentence need "what" ? Am I wrong ?
Thank you for your kind answer in advance.

Thank you,Mr.Fivejedjon. You said that "I gave the beggar what money I had." is fine. Then, what is its meaning?
Is it the same as "I gave the beggar all money I had" ? Thank you for your answer in advance.

My apologies. I should have corrected your sentence: "I gave the beggar all the money I had". This and "I gave the beggar what money I had" mean the same.
