Hi
Can the sentence below mean that "support was shorter than waiting" or just is " the two actions are happening at the same time and occupying the same time," correct ?
"His friends gave him support while waiting for an injection."
His friends gave him support while waiting for an injection. = His friends gave him support while they (his friends) were waiting for an injection. Suppose this represents the time of waiting.

The support can be at any time during the waiting, including all that time.

Can the sentence below mean that "support was shorter than waiting" It can mean this, but I think the intended meaning is " the two actions are happening at the same time and occupying the same time" .
"His friends gave him support while waiting for an injection."
A problem here is that it is not clear who was waiting. Was it him or was it his friends?
