gave a right pasting

I am wondering what could the word 'right' in the following sentence possibly mean?

Do you think it looks more like 'deserving or justifying' or 'much'?

Sorry for not being able to give some context.

It's just one sentence so... perhaps in each context, it could mean differently.

Nevertheless, I just hope to get some suggestions.

Thanks in advance~!
