Gather pick up dust

Could you tell me if this makes sense and could you tell me how you would say it?

I don't like suede pyjamas for babies as they pick up gather dust and hair. By days end you have dust and hair stuck on the pyjama.

Thanks

Use either "gather" or "pick up," not both. I've never heard of suede pyjamas for babies, or anyone else!

Do you suppose the writer meant flannel?
