Garnish, garnishee

When my daughter was told in a Driver's Ed class that insurance companies could "garnish your wages," I was indignant and told her the verb is "garnishee." But when I looked it up (online) to prove my point, I find that "garnish" is now listed as a synonym for "garnishee." Any comments? Emotion: geeked
