Galvanised/electrified

Can you please help me with the bolded parts (this is meant ironically, so girls, don't be insulted, please). thank you in advance

Isn't it natural for a woman to walk in little slippers around the house and to dust glass tops with a galvanised/electrified cleaning rag?

Hmmm. I think you are referring to those synthetic fibered dusting cloths or devises that one rubs on a surface such as a textured wall to create an electrical charge on it that attracts dust. That would neither be "electrified" (which would mean that it used a battery or plugged into an electrical outlet), or galvanized.

  • I'd change it to "electrically charged"

To dust glass tops - this would be referring to surfaces made of glass, like a table top

I agree with the galvanised/electrified comment of the previous post. I would, however, refer to the cleaning rag as a static or microfiber cleaning rag.

Static is the condition which makes a balloon stick to the wall when rubbed on a shirt or sweater, it takes on a static charge.

Welcome aboard, Anne! I see you are a brand new poster! I like the "static or microfiber" cloth idea.
