Gain money on lose money on

Could you correct these for me please? Are these natural?

Some products you gain/make money on, others you lose money on. Some products have gotten more expensive other have gotten cheaper/less expensive.

I lost money on my house. I bought it for 100000 and sold it for 80000.
I made/gained money on my house. I sold it for more tha. I bought it (for).

Thanks
