Vocabulary

"g" to "g"

Hello,

can anyone of you help me with the meaning of : "g" to "g"??

I don´t understand the meaning.
Contest ... Two guys are talking about laundry, one offers to the other to throw in a cycle ... does g to g means something like thanks you or one hand washes the other?

Thank you so much for your help.

The only thing I can think of (though it's weird in a laundry context) is that it's an expression short for gangsta to gangsta, in which case it's essentially the same thing as man to man or woman to woman in that the speaker recognizes a commonality between himself and the person he is addressing.

Hi

I like CS's comment. It appears also that the phrase means "Government to government" ...

Hi

... thinking about it, it could be guy-to-guy

In the context of one man offering to do another's laundry, that seems possible. It would then be a gay acknowlegement

Hey, it´s definitely no gay acknowledgement ... they are into girls ... :-)

Thanks for all your help :-)

Guys, do you know, what is meant by a bjork reference??

Hi

It seems you've denied my premise and then reasserted it! Here is a reference from Bjork ...

- "I've had so many close gay friends all my life, it's not that big of a deal with me. But I'd be lying if I said there weren't things I find easier to talk about with gay guys"

Hi Dave,

all the guys are talking about girls and the one, who said g to g is in love with a girl ... so i don´t think, it´s a gay context.

I´ve got a question: is this "bjork reference" just literally and means a reference from the singer bjork? Nothing idiomatically?

Sorry to ask all these questions, i´m german and have lots of questions about slang ;-)

Thank

Hi

I've never heard the phrase "Bjork reference" and I'm pretty sure people would be puzzled if you said that in ordinary conversation in the UK

But it is well known that she has a lot of gay fans (it's detailed in her Wikipedia entry). It implies that she understands g-g speech

I wonder if your original sentence means:

- You can put your washing in with mine, b

Much more context is needed. I'm a native English speaker in the US, and I don't understand the text that you've posted. For example, "throw in a cycle" could mean a number of different things, depending on the situation. Based on what you've provided, "g to g" and "bjork reference" could mean any of a number of things - or they could simply be nonsensical speech with no real meaning. It would
