Future time

Dear teachers,

Could you please tell me which tense is correct in the following sentences, and why?

1. I will feel more relaxed after I finish / have finished my essay by the end of the week.

2. It has already been arranged, they are coming after they have / have had dinner.

Best regards

This is my opinion:

(1) is awkwardly formed whichever you choose. I would say "I will feel more relaxed at the end of the week when/after I have finished my essay".

(2) is a comma splice (though this doesn't actually affect the question). It should be "after they have had dinner". In practice, you would often say "after dinner", provided it was clear from the context whose dinner

Thank you GPY,

So do I have to replace the comma by a full stop or a semi-colon in the second sentence ?
