Future tenses

Hi everybody,
I´m having a lot of problems when I do the grammar exercises related to future tenses, especially with the forms "will" and "be going to".
What is the main difference between the two forms?
When can we use each one of them?
I hope that you can answer my questions.
Thanks and regards

Hi Spolo, welcome to English Forms. Will and be going to forms are used to refer to future. The difference is will is used to when the decision for the future action is taken at the moment and be going to on the other hand is used when we refer to future actions which have already been planned.

The compilers of many such exercises unfortunately seem to assume that there is only one way of expressing the future in any given situation. In fact, there are often several ways. I am afraid that your teacher may well reject forms that are natural and correct.

Here is my summary of the main ways of expressing the future:

vsureshbe going to on the other hand is used when we refer to future actions which have already been planned. [...] A: What is your plan for summer?B: We are going to Kashmir.
You have used a progressive form there, not a BE going to one

Thank you. I'm afraid I did not concentrate.

We are going to visit Kashmir.
