Future tense

i will give it to you after/when you have finished or

i will give it to you after/when you finish

which one is correct and why

if both are correct, is there any difference ?

"When" is immediate. "After" is anytime later.

I will pay the bill when the waiter brings it. (Right away).

I will pay the electric bill after I find my checkbook. (Some vague time later).
